This article explains how to configure the Carrier Account Settings page.
The Carrier Account Settings page allows users to define the following settings — a type of service which is used in the Get Rates option, along with the default parcel weight and dimensions for shipments assigned to this carrier account. It also provides the option to set the availability and blackout dates and timings depending on the country. Additionally, the option to enable auto scheduled pickup also exists.
Permissions: Only users with Account Manager and Admin access roles are able to manage carrier account settings.
Setting up
1. Navigate to Carriers > Carrier Management > Carrier Accounts on the Carriyo Dashboard.
2. Choose the desired carrier and switch to the Settings tab by clicking on it. Configuring Packaging details ensures that for shipments associated with this particular carrier account, if no parcel weight and dimensions are provided, the predefined values set here will be automatically applied.
The details in the Service Information section will be used in the Get Rates option. It expects a type of service and the corresponding shipping cost.
Once set, this is how it will show up in the Get Rates popup dialog box.
2. Schedule & Availability is configured by country. For each country that is added to the list, Service dates and Blackout dates can be set up. To add a new country, click on the + add record button.
Select the desired country from the dropdown and click on Add.
Click on + add record to set the Service schedule and Blackout dates for the country.
The Auto Scheduled Pickup option if active, enables auto scheduling of pickup for shipments assigned to this carrier account. Additionally, activating the Allow Auto-Scheduling within time slot option enables users to set the lead time and pickup end time. Hover on the question mark to know more about the details. Click on Save once required changes are made.
Click on Save on the top right corner after all changes are made. The View Change Log option displays the changes made to the carrier account settings.
