This article is intended to assist users in understanding how to reassign one or a number of shipments.
Reassigning a shipment can be done to replace the currently assigned carrier. This can be done at times where a shipment is in Draft, Booked, Ready to Ship or Error status.
The reassignment of shipments can help resolve certain issues such as unassigned shipments or failed booking attempts. It can also be used to assign a carrier when a shipment is unassigned.
A shipment can be reassigned to a carrier account using the Reassign Carrier option available in the shipment's Actions menu. Reassigning can be done for a single shipment at a time, or in batches as a bulk operation.
Reassigning a carrier is possible only until the shipment is in 'ready to ship' status. Reassigning can't be done once the shipment reaches the 'shipped' status.
Permissions: Only users with Account Manager, Admin, Manager, and Operator access roles are able to reassign carriers for shipments.
Reassigning a shipment
1. Navigate to Shipping > Shipments on the Dashboard. The page displays, by default, the list of forward shipments. There are two ways to reassign a shipment. One is done from the page itself and the other is done inside a specific shipment's page as shown below.
2. Clicking on the Reassign Carrier option, if the Select a Carrier Account field is left empty, Carriyo will interpret this as automation rule assignment. Else a new carrier is to be selected and the Reassign Carrier button should be clicked.
3. For reassigning carriers to shipments in bulk to specific shipments, select the required shipments (to select all, check the box in the table header), and click on Reassign.
The number of shipments to be reassigned are the number of shipments that are not in draft and are currently not in 'shipped' status.
