This article discusses the steps required to export and import shipments in bulk in Carriyo.
A shipment is an order that is to be delivered to a shipping location (physical address). The two types of shipments in Carriyo are forward and reverse shipments. Forward shipments are shipments from merchant to customer and reverse shipments are shipments from customer to merchant.
Only 250 shipments can be imported and 50,000 shipments can be exported at a time.
Importing shipments
1. Navigate to Shipping > Shipments in the Carriyo Dashboard. Shipments can be imported using the import icon, as highlighted here.
2. Use the template that Carriyo offers, which is an Excel file, and enter required shipment details. Once filled, the file can be uploaded by clicking on the + drag or select your file option, and click on the upload button to complete the process. The imported shipments will now be shown together with the rest of your shipments.
3. You can either choose to create new shipments or create & update existing (only in 'Draft' status) shipments. Once the shipments are reviewed and moved to ready for import , you can click on Upload. Else, if they are ignored or invalid, you can export the file and edit it to your liking.
4. Once the shipments are imported, you can leave them as is or book them.
Exporting shipments
1. Navigate to Shipping > Shipments in the Carriyo Dashboard. To export shipments, click on the export icon on the top right corner of the page. Selecting individual shipments allows users to export a maximum of 100 shipments at a time. This can be done by changing the number of Rows per page to 100 and by clicking on the check box on the table header, all shipments on the page are selected.
On the other hand, by utilizing filters, Carriyo empowers users to export up to 50,000 shipments simultaneously. This can be done by filtering (use the filter icon
) only the desired shipments and clicking on the export icon provided on the top right corner of the page.
2. On clicking the export icon, the below dialog box will be displayed. CSV stands for Comma Separated Values, these are similar to excel files.
Since item and parcel information are not column attributes, they have to be separately mentioned if needed to be exported.
- Export All Fields - exports all shipment fields/columns that Carriyo offers.
- Export Only Visible Columns - export only columns that are currently displayed on the screen. Use the columns option to change columns/column order.
- Custom Export -The below video demonstrates how to do this. The right column keeps track of fields that are to be in the exported file. The available fields show all the existing fields in Carriyo.
Once the required option is selected, click on the Export button. A file will be downloaded to your system.
For Reverse shipments
To switch to reverse shipments, set Shipment Type to Reverse and repeat the same processes described for exporting and importing forward shipments.
