This article explains the steps to add and manage merchants in Carriyo.
Merchants allow segregating transactional information and can represent brands, business units, sales channels or other business structures within an organization. In Carriyo, merchants are required for creating and booking shipments. These merchants can be configured and managed in the Account settings. Options exist to restrict access to specific merchants for lower access roles.
Permissions: Only users with Admin access role are able to add and manage Merchants in Carriyo.
Adding a Merchant
1. Navigate to Settings > Administration > Merchants on the Carriyo Dashboard.
2. The page displays all existing merchants for the account. To create a new merchant, click on + add merchant.
3. Assign a unique Merchant ID and a corresponding name to the seller. This name will be utilized throughout the user interface. Upload the display logo and ensure that the merchant is active.

Merchant Features
- Automatic Shipment Language Detection detects the language in which the shipment details are entered i.e., the language is automatically picked up.
The following features are part of the CX Apps section
- Branded Feedback Loop enables the use of a branded feeback loop page url and feedback loop embedded in tracking pages for this Merchant. This can be customized in the CX Apps.
- Branded Pinpoint Location enables the feature for customers of this merchant to pinpoint their address on Google maps for faster shipment delivery.

Email Notifications allows sending notifications via email to its customers on behalf of this merchant.

SMS Notifications allows sending notifications via SMS to its customers on behalf of this merchant.
- Whatsapp for Business Notifications allows sending notifications via WhatsApp to its customers on behalf of this merchant.

Catalog Images allows the display of item images in the Carriyo Items catalog.
Merchant Settings
- Use Merchant Specific Notification Triggers and Templates allows merchants to use customized triggers and templates for email, SMS and WhatsApp.
Subscription Settings
- Premium Tracking Page enables the use of the Carriyo tracking page which can be customized to cater to the needs of individual merchants.
4. Click on Save once all required changes are made.
Managing merchants
The only action allowed on a merchant entity is deactivation / activation. This option becomes useful at times when a merchant is no longer used or when a merchant is used only for a certain period of time.
Click on the merchant ID to edit its properties or change the settings.
