This article explains how to create and manage users and user roles in Carriyo.
How to create users
1. Navigate to Settings > Users on the Carriyo Dashboard. To create a new user, click on the add button on the top right corner of the page. A dialog box will appear where the email/username will need to be filled in.
2. Select the type of user ID that is to be assigned to the user. Possible options are External (SSO) User ID and Carriyo User ID. Provide a suitable username and click on Next.
3. The subsequent step involves assigning a role to the user, enabling control over both merchant access and data filters. Merchant access limits user control to specific merchants, while data filters restrict users to viewing and managing shipments exclusively to or from specific Locations. Additionally, this configuration can also be set to Locations within specific countries.
Operations on user entities
Carriyo provides options to delete and edit users. The reset password option sends a mail to the email ID provided for the account.
The state of user accounts can also be set to active and inactive, if they are to be terminated for a while and need not be deleted permanently.
The quick filters can be made use of to see the user accounts in different statuses. Pending invitations pertain to accounts for which users have yet to complete the setup process themselves. Options available for these accounts are resend invitation and delete.
Importing and exporting users
The actions of exporting and importing users is also supported. A template is provided for downloading using which users can import files into Carriyo. To export data, simply click on the export button which will initiate the action and download the file into the user's system.
