One of Carriyo's powerful features is its ability to display an easy to read status for each shipment, no matter how many different carriers might be used.
Our solution does this by mapping every carrier status into a single list of statuses that are visible in the Carriyo Dashboard and through the Carriyo API.
Carriyo includes 21 different statuses and they apply to both Forward Shipments as well as Reverse Shipments.
The explanation for each status is provided in the table below.
Status | Description | Allowed transitions |
Draft |
A shipment has been created as a draft. It is not confirmed and it will not be communicated by CARRIYO to the selected carrier. |

Pending |
A shipment has been confirmed and is pending the confirmation and acceptation of the carrier along with the respective airway bill. |
|
Booked |
A shipment has been booked with the assigned carrier. All documents including airway bill and commercial invoice is generated upon booking. |
|
Ready to Ship |
Certain carriers require a confirmation that a shipment is now ready for pick-up. In such cases this status will be used to inform the carrier. |
|
Shipped |
The shipment has been shipped by the retailer and is now in the carrier’s hands. |
|
In Transit |
The shipment has been collected and processed by the carrier and is now being transported to the destination. |
|
Out for Delivery |
In some cases, the carrier will move the shipment to this status when the shipment is on its last mile of delivery and on the way to the customer. |
|
Awaiting Customer Collection |
For shipments that are to be collected by the customer at collection points, this status is the last one in the journey. Only applicable to collection shipments. |
|
Delivered |
This is the final status for shipments that have been successfully delivered to the final recipient. |
|
Failed Delivery Attempt |
The carrier has failed to deliver the shipment. The delivery might still be reattempted depending on carrier policies. |
|
Ready for Return |
The carrier has failed to deliver the shipment and exausted re-attempts. The shipment is now being processed to return to source. |
|
Return in Transit |
The carrier has failed to deliver the shipment and exhausted re-attempts. The shipment is now being on its way to be returned to the source. |
|
Returned |
The shipment has successfully be returned to the source location. This is a final status. |
|
Problem |
The carrier has declared a problem with the shipment. The shipment might be lost or damaged during transportation. Shipments in this status need to be resolved to be able to progress to a terminal status. |

Delayed |
The shipment has been delayed due to an operational reason. |
|
Missing |
The shipment is missing and not traceable due to some reason. |
|
Suspended |
The shipment has been put on hold due to an operational reason. |
|
Error |
There has been an error in communicating the shipment request to the carrier. This shipment requires troubleshooting in the history page and might require manual editing of address details before reattempt. |
|
Failed Collection Attempt |
The carrier has failed to collect the shipment from the warehouse. Collection might still be reattempted depending on carrier policies. |
|
Cancelled by Carrier |
The shipment has been cancelled by the carrier for some reason. |
|
Cancelled |
The shipment has been manually cancelled by a user in CARRIYO. Once shipped, a shipment cannot be cancelled. |
|
Closed |
The shipment has been manually closed after it could not be delivered nor returned for a reason. This is a terminal status. |
|
Delivery Confirmed |
(optional end state) This is the final status for shipments that have been delivered to the destination by the carrier and confirmed by the receiving entity. |

Return Confirmed |
(optional end state) This is the final status for shipments that have been returned to origin by the carrier and confirmed by the receiving entity. |
