This article explains the possible errors in Carriyo and how to resolve them.
When a shipment is facing any kind of error, the status of the shipment will be updated to 'Error'.
In Carriyo, a shipment can be in error due to various reasons. The Error status is an intermediate state between Draft and Pending/Booked, which means that labels/AWBs are not generated while in this state. A shipment must be successfully booked for its documents to be available.
Errors can generally be categorized into two types: carrier errors and Carriyo errors. These are mostly validation errors. Another common issue is the carrier timeout error.
The Shipment Problems section in the Summary tab provides details on all errors and warnings. If a shipment is encountering an error at the carrier's end, the error message will include the name of the carrier. In the case of Carriyo errors, the error will be described simply as a Data Error.
Understanding errors
The History tab provides a compact view of the error details, citing the source of each error that the shipment is currently facing. Additionally, if the level is a warning from Carriyo, it can be ignored.
- Carriyo validation errors are usually self explanatory. These may arise from incorrect city name, invalid country code, invalid contact number/email for the pickup or dropoff details or may also be a result of no carrier assigned to the shipment.
- Carrier errors on the other hand, usually arise due to validation errors like invalid Shipper number, invalid dropoff city etc. or timeout errors. Timeout errors mean that the carrier API is not responding in a timely manner and as a result, shipments do not get booked with the carrier.
Resolving errors
- To resolve Carriyo validation errors, simply edit the details and re-book the shipment.
- To resolve carrier related errors - both validation & timeout errors, contact the carrier team.
