This article outlines the steps required to configure notification settings.
Notifications are allowed via Email, SMS and WhatsApp. In staging environment, test mode is always on and notifications are sent to whitelisted addresses and numbers. In prod, test mode can be switched on and off as required.
Notifications can be set at the account level or they can be merchant specific.
Permissions: Account settings can only be configured by users with Admin access role. Only users with Account Manager, Admin and Manager access roles are able to configure Notification settings.
Configuring the settings
For notifications to be sent to the customers of a particular merchant through all three channels, the first three toggle switches must be turned on.
Enabling the last toggle allows the triggers and notification templates (language, content etc.) to be merchant specific. If this toggle is disabled, the default triggers and notification templates will be used.
Notifications are sent based on the triggers configured for the destination country. Additionally, the sender email address for each destination country must also be set to send these messages to customers. The settings for Email, SMS and WhatsApp are to be configured individually. Country-specific configurations will take precedence over the general settings for all countries (Any Country).
Aliases can be set for the email addresses if required. Ensure that the number/mail id is set and that the toggle is active. The countries in this list will be applied to all Forward shipments, Reverse shipments, Return requests and Pinpoint location notifications for this particular channel (here, Email).
The default template language for the destination countries can also be configured here.
To change the Sender Email Address or use a custom email address, you will need to set up the email domain in Settings > Email Domains. To add a new domain, click on the add icon on the top right corner and verify the domain. Once the domain is verified, you can use the email address under this domain as the sender email address.
Destination country records can be deleted if not necessary. If they are used periodically, the activate/deactivate toggle button can be used.
Click on Save once all changes are made.
You can similarly configure the settings for SMS by switching to the SMS tab. The same logic applies to WhatsApp notification settings.
The default template language options are provided based on the translation languages set for the account. These can be controlled in the Translation Languages section by navigating to Account > System. English is the default language. Click on + add record to add a new language option. Languages no longer in use can be deleted.
